1987/88 season proved to be a succesful season for Wolverhampton Wanderers. The club finished the season as champions in the fourth division, and also won the 1988 Sherpa Van Trophy final wearing this shirt. The Sherpa Van Trophy Final (Associate Members' Cup Final) was a domestic club competition for clubs competing in the third and fourth divisions.
